What is cannabidiol? You may have heard the word associated with hemp or CBD products before. In short, it is what most people know as CBD. Cannabidiol is a natural compound that comes from the cannabis plant and is one of over 113 known cannabinoids that produce a range of effects. So what makes cannabidiol different from these other cannabinoids? We will look at its uses, how it works with your body, and where it can be purchased.
What is Cannabidiol Used For?
Cannabidiol is used in a variety of products and applications, including medical, supplemental, and cosmetic products. Being a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, it is used in cosmetic and topical products to heal skin and treat localized pain.
Most commonly, CBD is used by people as a supplement for daily wellness and for relief from a variety of common ailments. These ailments include anxiety, nausea, insomnia, and more. While CBD products are not FDA approved to treat any of these ailments and clinical research is limited, the anecdotal evidence is strong and daily usage keeps growing.
What makes CBD different from the other cannabinoids?

Apart from THC, CBD is the most studied of the cannabinoids. At percentages of 0.3% or higher, THC is still federally illegal while CBD is not. While a handful of other cannabinoids are being researched and products are being developed, CBD is still the most widely used, produced, and recommended.
